Beckett Authentication at Mill Creek Sports

Professional autograph authentication by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS), hosted on-site at our store.

We regularly host private, on-site authentication days with Beckett at Mill Creek Sports. You can drop off items any time to be included in the next session, or ship your items to us (details below).

Important Dates

  • Submission Cut-Off: Items must be received one business day before Beckett’s scheduled event date.
  • Pickups / Mail-Ins: Authenticated items will be available for pickup or return shipping two business days after the event.

What’s Included (and What’s Not)

  • Included: Authentication of autographs on memorabilia (balls, bats, jerseys, photos, etc.).
  • Not included: Card grading or encapsulation. Beckett’s encapsulation equipment is not available at these events.

This is a private, behind-the-scenes authentication service performed at our store by Beckett. There is no public meet-and-greet component.

How It Works

  1. Submit your item(s): Drop off in-store (preferred) or ship to us (see Mail-In).
  2. Select service level: Beckett offers Small Cert and Full Letter of Authenticity (LOA) tiers. Final fees follow Beckett’s posted pricing.
  3. Payment: In-store submissions are paid before items are sent to Beckett. For mail-ins, we’ll contact you for payment upon receipt if not already arranged.
  4. Authentication day: Beckett examines items on-site at our store during their scheduled visit.
  5. Pick up / return shipping: Items are typically ready for pickup two business days after the session. Mail-ins are shipped back using your provided label (or we can bill return postage).

Pricing

All fees follow Beckett’s current price guide. For convenience, here’s how our submission program typically maps to Beckett’s tiers:

Small Cert (Beckett price < $50)

  • Under 20 items: $15 each
  • 20-50 items: $12 each
  • 50+ items: $10 each

Full Letter (Beckett price ≥ $50)

  • Items priced $50-$250: 25% off Beckett’s posted price
  • Items priced over $250: no additional discount

Note: If an item fails authentication, Beckett still charges the normal fee. All submission fees are non-refundable once Beckett has rendered a pass/fail decision.

Mail-In Submissions

You can ship items to us for inclusion in the next Beckett session. Please include:

  • Your name and phone number
  • A prepaid return shipping label (recommended). If not included, we’ll contact you for return postage.

Policies & Important Notes

  • This service is strictly for autograph authentication. No card grading or encapsulation is available through this program.
  • In-store submissions must be paid before we release items to Beckett.
  • For mail-ins, we will contact you for payment if not previously arranged.
  • If an item fails Beckett Authentication, the standard fee still applies. No refunds after Beckett’s decision.
  • Cut-off for each session is typically one business day prior; pickups generally available two business days after.
